We’re proud to share that Access Sport College, as part of Access Further Education, has achieved Ofsted’s ‘Expected Standard’, recognising that we meet the national benchmark for educational quality across our sports provision.
While inspections provide an important independent assessment, we’ve always believed that the standard that matters goes far beyond a report.
It’s the moment a student leads their first coaching session. It’s the confidence to guide a team through a game plan. It’s collaborating with peers who share your passion for sport. It’s developing the skills, experience and resilience to take your next step into coaching, employment or further study.
That’s the standard we’ve always set ourselves. And it’s what Ofsted recognised throughout its report.
The inspection highlights what makes Access Sport College different.
Inspectors recognised our commitment to creating an inclusive environment where students feel supported to succeed, with leaders placing a high priority on removing barriers to learning so every student has the opportunity to thrive. They also recognised how our students frequently demonstrate high-level coaching skills, with many gaining part-time coaching jobs while still studying.
The report also celebrates our students’ use of cutting-edge tools, including artificial intelligence coaching technology to reflect on team formation and tactics – as well as the expertise of tutors who remain active in the sports industry as coaches.
On our personal training programmes, students benefit from bespoke business planning teaching co-designed with leaders, and learn about specialist pathways such as pre- and post-natal training.
