SPORTS DEVELOPMENT & COACHING Level 3

This two-year course is designed for students with a strong interest in sport or football development while gaining a valuable skill set within coaching, sports science and performance analysis.

Students who complete this course, alongside our coaching or sports science pathway will open opportunities to progress onto university, U.S scholarships, apprenticeships and future careers across a variety of coaching,  sport science, or teaching roles within the world of sport.

Year 1

In year 1 students will work across a variety of industry disciplines. These include: Careers in Sport, Sports Coaching, Sporting Performance and Analysis, Physical and Mental Health, and Sports Science.

Each area of study will include key Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours involved within them, with learners given the opportunity to practice these throughout the week. Learners will experience a range of practical and classroom based lessons, with all assignments being assessed internally using various methods including written assignments, practical assignments, spoken assignments and project works.

Year 2

Your course will have a specific focus on key skill sets, knowledge and areas of effective application with the Sports Industry including sports psychology, anatomy and physiology, fitness testing, coaching and your chosen research project.

The aim is to prepare and develop your ability across a multitude of integral subjects ready for progression onto university, U.S Scholarship, career start or alternative exit routes.

Linked with our Coaching or Sports Science pathways, this course will develop your knowledge and understanding of the Sports Industry, help create an attractive CV, and consolidate positive employability skills.
