Students study towards a two year Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Development and Coaching qualification that is attached to one of our industry career focused pathways in either coaching & teaching or sports science . Both the qualification and course pathways are 100% practical and cover a wide variety of topics across a wide range of sporting careers.
The course allows students to focus on developing industry relevant skills, knowledge, and experiences to support progression onto their chosen pathway(s) and future journeys.
Being based within a live football business provides students with unrivalled opportunities for invaluable work experience across a range of disciplines including community coaching, physio, media, performance analysis and more.
Professional development hours are also built into students timetables which enables them to gain transferable employability and life skills, along with contacts and industry experiences that supports them in their future career journeys.

On the pitch the AFC Totton Football Education Programme caters for both elite players aiming to develop as far as they can up the football pyramid and those who aspire to turn their passion into a career in coaching, performance analysis, sports science and more.
Students undertake a structured training programme with UEFA and FA qualified coaches that will support players to develop physically and technically, utilising the latest in performance technology (VEO cameras, Playertek GPS Vests and Sports Coaching Session Planner). This professional technology is also available for students aspiring to be sports scientists, analysts, and coaches, allowing them to get hands on and develop a portfolio of experience that support their future career aspirations.
Representing the club across a range of competitive national and college league and cup competitions, including the prestigious FA Youth Cup, there is also the opportunity for those who excel to progress to the first team squad.
