Register your interest to receive an invite to our next open event, and learn how our career-focused football scholarship programme inspires futures both on-and-off the pitch.
The Hebburn Town FC Academy Football Scholarship programme provides ambitious young people aged 16–19 with a clear pathway into the football and wider sports industry. Combining academic study with elite football development, the programme delivers a unique environment where students can grow, inspire and both succeed on and off the pitch.
Based at the home of Hebburn Town FC, The Trustmark Stadium the scholarship programme allow students to gain recognised sport qualifications, develop as a player while experiencing life within a professional football industry setting. Whether your goal is to progress as a player or pursue a career within sport, our experienced coaching and education staff support every learner to achieve their full potential.
Completion of the course see’s students progress onto university, U.S. scholarships, apprenticeships, and semi professional or professional football.
Further more, Hebburn Town FC have some exciting plans of the next few months to redevelop the stadium and facilities that will include two brand-new state-of-the-art 3G pitches. This will be supported by enhanced ancillary facilities, creating an environment that reflects the club’s ambition and supports long-term player development.

Students study towards a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Development and Coaching which is designed for those who are interested in working in the sports industry and want to develop their knowledge, skills, and confidence.
During the course, you’ll learn about a wide range of topics, including careers in the sports industry, health and wellbeing, sports coaching and leadership, sports psychology, anatomy and physiology, fitness testing and improving performance and much more…
The course is highly practical and incorporates professional development hours that allows students to develop real industry and employability skills while exploring career pathways such as coaching, teaching, sports science, physio, media, athlete performance and more…
Students also have the opportunity to apply for career focused international sports tours that are designed to broaden horizons, develop skillsets and give them valuable experience within the global sports industry.

Operating within a live football organisation with fantastic relationships with the local community and grassroots football, students have the opportunity to gain work experience opportunities in areas such as community coaching, performance analysis, event delivery, media, officiating and more…

Whether an elite player looking to progress as high up the football pyramid as possible or simply wanting to continue playing while studying, the programme provides a structured and supportive training and match environment four days per week
Players train under highly UEFA and FA qualified coaches, following a professional training programme that focuses on technical ability, tactical awareness, fitness, and mental resilience.
Performance technology, including VEO video analysis, Playertek GPS vests and Coaches Voice Session planner allows students interested in coaching, sports science or performance analysis careers to gain hands-on experience while maximising personal and team performance.
Students will represent Hebburn Town FC Academy in the National Youth Alliance League, FA Youth Cup providing players with a high-level academy football environment.
In addition, standout performers may be invited to train with the Hebburn Town FC first team, offering a valuable opportunity to showcase their talent at a higher level with the aim of earning a contract and pathway into paid football.
Annual overseas football tours are also available for students to compete with academies overseas.
