Access Sport | Guiseley AFC Academy

Students study towards a two year Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Development and Coaching qualification that is attached to one of our industry career focused pathways in either  coaching & teaching or sports science . Both the qualification and course pathways are 100% practical and cover a wide variety of topics across a wide range of sporting careers.

The course allows students to focus on developing industry relevant skills, knowledge and experiences to support their progression onto university, U.S Scholarships, Apprenticeships or direct employment.

Being based within live football and fitness businesses, provides students with great opportunities to gain invaluable work experiences across a range of disciplines including community coaching, physio, media, fitness, event management and more.

Professional development hours are also built into students timetables which enables them to gain work experience, transferable employability skills and build contacts and industry experiences that supports them within their future career journeys.

On the pitch The Guiseley AFC Academy Football Education Programme is designed for both elite players looking to develop as far as they can up the football pyramid and those that wish to continue to play and use their passion in further education to secure a future in sport off the pitch.

Students train everyday with our highly qualified UEFA coaches and FA educators at the fantastic Guiseley AFC trainign facilities , developing as players physically and technically utilising the latest in performance technology (VEO Cameras, Playertek GPS Vests and Sports Coaching Session Planner). This professional technology is also available for students aspiring to be sports scientists, analysts and coaches to get hands on a develop a portfolio of experience that support their future career aspirations.

Crowned the National League Under-19 Alliance North champions in 2024, you have the chance to be part of a highly successful program on the pitch, representing the club across a range of competitive national and college league and cup competitions including the prestigious FA Youth Cup. There is also the chance for those that catch the eye to be rewarded with opportunities to be involved or earn a first team contract.

International tours also take place annually with a range of career focused and player development trips on offer for students to experience.
