Sports Coach Level 4 Apprenticeship

  • Apprenticeship
The Sports Coach Level 4 Apprenticeship standard combines employment and continued study for learners looking to achieve a career in elite or community coaching.

An apprenticeship is the perfect way for individuals to earn an income while continuing to develop personally, professionally and academically, while providing employers with valuable skilled staff to enhance or fill skills gaps within their business.

A career as a Sport Coach uses extensive technical and tactical sports knowledge and skills to design and deliver coaching programmes that engage, motivate and evolve participants’ skills and performance. There are three specific pathways to choose from (High Performance Coaches, Community Sport Coaches, School Sport Coaches)

A sport coach aims to provide meaningful and high-quality learning, development and performance experiences. In this role a sport coach can support the achievement of medals in talent, national and international competition, enrich performance in local competitions, increase participation, raise educational standards, enhance wellbeing and drive social change.
