We offer learners aged 16-19 further education programmes across the UK through well established partnerships with sport organisations, academies and football clubs while also running our own individual programmes.

This two-year course is designed for students with a strong interest in sport or football development while gaining a valuable skill set within coaching, sports science and performance analysis.

Students who complete this course, alongside our coaching or sports science pathway will open opportunities to progress onto university, U.S scholarships, apprenticeships and future careers across a variety of coaching,  sport science, or teaching roles within the world of sport.

5 GCSEs at grade 4-9 ideally incuding English & Maths

Course Length

Foundation Diploma in year one. Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development in year 2.

This one-year course helps prepare students physically, socailly and academically for employment with a range of transferable skills in readiness for employment and future careers within the sports coaching industry.

Connected with our sport coaching pathway, it allows students to continue to use their passion for sport in an environment that is related to sports coaching and increasing participation in physical activity. This course combines practical learning and industry experiences to prepare learner’s with the skills and knowledge alongside opportunities to directly engage with employers such as sports clubs, primary schools and coaching organisations.

All while continuing to participate in a high quality football or sport development environment with highly experienced coaches.

COURSE OVERVIEW

Within the Level 2 Sports Coaching course you will learn the ways in which people participate in sport and physical activity, the benefits and barriers to participating in sport and methods to carry out safe and legal working practices.

As well as this you will understand the importance of being a role model and the different factors influencing sport and physical activity in the local community.

Finally, you will also be able to plan, deliver and review different activities and learn how to monitor and evaluate your performances through these practical learning opportunities.
